Tuesday 18 th july
This morning the cars left Szeged to Bucharest, with an escort of the police again. It took the cars two hours to get the first 130 kilometres, because most of the roads here are in a very poor condition. The speeds we have to maintain are just a bit high for some of the older cars like the Bentleys.
From the moment the equipes arrived in Romania not only the roads are bad but we are also joined by all kinds of traffic, like, buses, trucks, carts pulled by donkeys, cyclists and dogs.
Team 21 with the Simca was involved in an accident. The car is badly damaged, but reparable and the drives are OK.
Some of the competitors have driven through villages with high speeds and this led to the police stopping them. This had a major impact on the ranking of this day.
