After a relaxing day in Istanbul, the equips drove to Ankara today. The cars left Istanbul via the bridge over the Bosporus into Asia. Istanbul is the only city in the world on two continents. The first part of the rally was motorways again, but later the cars had to take secondary roads. The route books were easy to read and follow.
In the afternoon the regularity stage started and the cars had to drive average of 57 km per hour. The gravel roads were very narrow that caused some exciting moments. On gravel the most of the cars are difficult to steer. So they had to gain time on the asphalt. We do not know where the organisation measured the average speed and the final results did not came in that day, because one of the cars of the TV crew crashed and many teams were halted due to this incident.
